Human Brain Signal Analysis: Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy Diagnosis by Electroencephalograph
نویسندگان
چکیده
Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy recognition and its cognitive effect were investigated through Welch Periodogram analysis of EEG signals. The micro-volt brain delicate signals were measured by our laboratory KL-720 system with Kl-75004 Electroencephalogram module, after careful adjustments. The digital signal processing DSP proved itself through the MATLAB software as useful analyzing tool for the absolute and relative power extracted from EEG power spectrum in different frequency bands. It was the standard method by which Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy detected in primarily stage where effective treatment is available. It also indicated that the Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy have not any effect on brain cognitive function.

Background & Aims: Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disease that is manifested in the form of frequent seizures and accompanied by changes in behavior, sensation, perception, learning, and memory. Different findings indicate that discharge seizure in different parts of the brain affects the Executive functions, and also prevents processing in complex individual behaviors. The purpose of this ...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis by renormalized entropy of invasive electroencephalograph recordings in focal epilepsy
Invasive electroencephalograph (EEG) recordings of ten patients suffering from focal epilepsy were analyzed using the method of renormalized entropy. Introduced as a complexity measure for the different regimes of a dynamical system, the feature was tested here for its spatio-temporal behavior in epileptic seizures. In all patients a decrease of renormalized entropy within the ictal phase of se...
متن کاملEarly myoclonic encephalopathy.
Early myoclonic encephalopathy (EME) is a rare malignant epileptic syndrome. The erratic myoclonus with or without focal motor seizures, onset before 3 months of age, and persistent suppression-burst pattern in electroencephalograph (EEG) are accepted as the diagnostic criteria for EME. We report an 11 month old infant with EME which was secondary to non-ketotic hyperglycinemia.
